Privacy Policy — what we collect, and why

Last updated: 22 August 2026  ·  Effective for all visitors to moneymoveswithher.com

You’re trusting us with your money questions — the least we owe you is a straight answer on what happens to your data. This page tells you exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it.

01

Introduction

Welcome to Money Moves With Her (moneymoveswithher.com) — a personal finance education platform built for Indian women. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you read our articles, use our calculators, take our quizzes, or subscribe to our newsletter, and what rights you have over that data.

We are a small, independent educational site — not a bank, broker, or registered investment advisor. This policy is written to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and reflects how we actually operate, not boilerplate.

02

What we collect

We keep collection to what we genuinely need to run the site and improve the content:

CategoryWhat it includesWhen
Newsletter dataEmail address, and your quiz result if you request it by emailOnly when you voluntarily subscribe or request a result
Contact form dataName, email, and your messageWhen you submit the contact form
We do not ask for, and you should never need to give us, your PAN, bank account details, Aadhaar number, or investment account credentials. If anything on the site ever asks for these, treat it as suspicious and email us.
03

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand which articles and tools are actually helpful, and cookies from WordPress to remember basics like your cookie consent choice. This means Google may set cookies on your device and process some data under its own privacy policy.

Your cookie choices

  • You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings — the site will still work, though we won’t know which pages were useful to you.
  • You can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • We do not currently run advertising or retargeting cookies.
04

How we use your data

  • To send the newsletter and, if requested, your quiz results and next-step recommendations.
  • To understand our content’s performance — which articles help, where readers drop off, what to write next.
  • To respond to you when you reach out through the contact form.
  • To keep the site secure — detecting spam, abuse, or unusual traffic patterns.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your quiz answers or calculator inputs to build an advertising profile of you.

06

Sharing & third parties

We work with a small number of service providers to run the site, and we share only what each one needs to do its job:

  • Google (Analytics & Site Kit) — anonymized usage data, to understand traffic.
  • Our email/newsletter provider — your email address, solely to send the newsletter and quiz results you asked for.

Our site links out to third-party platforms — Instagram, LinkedIn, the official Income Tax e-filing portal, and educational resources we reference. Once you click through, that platform’s own privacy policy applies; we don’t control and aren’t responsible for how they handle your data.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone.

07

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter emails — kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Contact form submissions — kept for up to 12 months for reference, then deleted.
  • Analytics data — retained per Google Analytics’ default retention window, in aggregated/anonymized form.
  • Quiz & calculator inputs — not stored server-side; they exist only in your browser session unless you explicitly choose to email yourself a result.
08

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or outdated data.
  • Withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time — every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us directly.
  • Request erasure of your data, where we’re not legally required to keep it.
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf, in the event of your death or incapacity, as provided under the DPDP Act.

To exercise any of these, email us — see Contact us. We’ll respond within 30 days.

09

Children’s privacy

Money Moves With Her is built for adult women managing their own finances. Our content and tools are not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, contact us and we’ll delete it promptly.

10

Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption across the site and access controls on our hosting and email systems to protect the data we hold.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site, our tools, or Indian data-protection law evolve. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the latest version. For material changes — such as starting to share data with a new type of third party — we’ll flag it clearly on the site, not just in this document.
